About Bikram Yoga


Bikram’s Yoga is a Hatha Yoga practice of 26 postures with two breathing exercises done in the exact same order every time in a room heated to approximately 105 degrees Fahrenheit with 40 % humidity during the course of 90 minutes.

The ideal setting for Bikram yoga is 105 degrees fahrenheit and 50% humidity. Although it fluctuates some based on external conditions, we try to keep it pretty constant.

What to wear:

Be prepared to SWEAT! The most important thing is to be comfortable. Wear supportive and breathable clothing. You may want to avoid wearing pants and heavy cotton fabrics. Less is more!

What To Bring:

Every student is required to have a yoga mat and a full sized towel to go on top. You will be VERY sweaty, and the towel will keep you from slipping on your mat. For your convenience, we offer mat and towel rentals at the front desk. You will also want to bring plenty of water to drink. We have a wide variety of drinks available for purchase. We even offer them during class so they stay nice and cold!

Every body is different, but we typically advise people not to eat a meal within two hours of class. If you need to eat before class, eat a light snack. We do a lot of compression postures in high heat, so eating a heavy meal may make you uncomfortable. As always, listen to your body.

Bikram yoga is a moving meditation. We always perform the same 26 postures and 2 breathing exercises. You will find that although the postures don’t change from class to class, your body and your experience will be different each time.

Our teachers use the bikram yoga dialogue, which will guide you through the mechanics of each posture. It may seem fast at first, but you will become familiar with it over time. The teachers do not demonstrate the postures, so if you are new to the yoga, it’s best to start at the back of the room so you can learn from your fellow yogis.

Please help us maintain a sacred space for meditation and healing. Absolutely NO cell phones or talking in the hot room.

Love this place, the instructors are so nice, they explain each pose, and makes you feel really relaxed. The class schedule is great, especially on the weekends.

Best Bikram yoga studio out there in the DC area (and I have tried them all). Near Metro, super clean, awesome teachers that really care about the students, great support community and best balanced-heated hot room I have ever been in. They even have lines to place the yoga mats so everyone can get a glance at the mirrors. Love it Love it Love it.read more

This is by far the best traditional Bikram Yoga studio! I have lived and practiced all over the country, and I hit the jackpot to have this studio so close to my home.
